Comments: Two more classes before summer break ... this realization is really starting to hit all the sevikas -- and boy, are we feeling a little sad. We are going to miss our morning classes -- these Sunday get togethers always seem like a weekly party with our dearest family and friends!

Parents: Give some thought about our June 7th farewell bash. If you have any suggestions about fun activities, please let us know. After our book assembly, we will be hitting the outdoors for some fresh air and fun. (This is also one of the few opportunities where the parents can act more like kids than the kids do :-) Balloons and bubbles are on the agenda. Other than our basic juice and biscuit snack, if anyone is interested in bringing some adult food (a tad spicier than our snacks), please do -- we will be thrilled (and some of us more thrilled than others :-) A sign-up sheet will be circulated at the next class. Be sure and remind the sevikas, if we forget to put it out ...

The decorations for June 14 are coming along beautifully -- and on schedule. A round of applause for all the parents and volunteers who have been diligently donating their time!! People are still getting together at the ashram for assembly -- so if you have a morning or afternoon free, do come and help out. Times and dates are posted above in the announcement box.

Our Sanskrit Book Project will be ready to put together on June 7. You have all done a fabulous job in making the animals! Even though the children aren't able to conceptualize what the end project will look like, we know that once the book is put together they will feel very proud of all their Sanskrit learning and art work. Make sure that you press the pictures under some weight (a few hardcover books works really well.) Not only will these pressed pictures have a more professional appearance to them, but they will glue onto the book pages more nicely. If the pages are wrinkled (or buckled), then they will not sit properly on the page, and risk the chance of coming off. At this point, everyone should have 13 animals. If you are missing any, we have them posted so you can make them at home. (click here for the 13 images.) Please make sure, however, that the paper size corresponds with the images done in class -- otherwise they might not fit into the book page.

Also, for those of you who missed our class photo op last week, we're going to have another group photo on May 31. Be sure to wear big smiles that day. We had hoped to include these pictures in our End of the Year book, but we will be posting them in our blog gallery instead. Unfortunately, we cannot make out the faces in the photograph when we reduce to the size needed for the book. Sorry about that. The upside is that a gallery will allow give us permission to really go nuts with the camera!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! We hope the weather will be nice when the pools open :-)

Look forward to seeing you all next class (May 31) ...

Comments: Happy Mother's Day to all our moms. We hope you are having an absolutely wonderful day with your families. Remember what we said, kids: "The best Mother's Day Gift is to be extra helpful, eat all your vegetables with a smile, tidy up after yourself, and give lots of hugs!"

Priyanka and Vikram introduced us to their cousins, Sanjana and Aditya (from Mumbai) -- a very warm Hari OM to them! We are looking forward to having you in class again next week, Sanjana.

Also, Vikas introduced us to his grandmother and grandfather. They, too, are visiting from India, and we have our fingers crossed that they will be joining us for the June 14th annual function.

End of the Year Decorations are now underway -- and there is an awful lot of work to be done. Parents, please find time to join us at the ashram for production work. Not only will this be our contribution for the June 14th annual event, but we always have fun working together at the ashram ... our hands are busy with creative work, there is lots of laughter, good music, and enevitably some tasty chai emerges from the kitchen for everyone :-) Contact Rashmi Kashi if you have any questions -- she is the project coordinator. All dates and times when we will be getting together to work will be posted above in the announcement section.

Just 3 more weeks and we will be breaking for the summer. Hard to believe that the year has flown by so quickly. It has truly been a joy to watch our children blossom and mature over these months -- we're really going to miss our little graduates. June 7th is our end of the year party -- and we plan to have a blast! We will be bringing a sign up list for tasty foods -- so if you have a favorite dish, please be sure and share it with us that day. If the weather permits, we will spend that morning outdoors (after we put our Sanskrit book together.) Parents be aware: we will have our super duper bubble solution for the kids -- so make sure that they are in outdoor dress. Our party is a casual one :-)

Today was class photo day. However, once we looked through the pictures at home, it became apparent that some of our smaller friends got hidden by the bigger kids. Sorry about that. We'll bring the camera again next week and make sure that we get their pics.

Super big thanks to Roopa Auntie for bringing in some really gorgeous stickers for our toddlers. She hauled them all the way back from India ... and boy, we can't wait to use them! It's going to be pretty hard to decide which one to use on the front cover of our Animal Book.

Also a very special thank you to Chinna Uncle. Once again, he has wowed us with a beautiful drawing of Bala Ganapati to use for our end of the year project. You are all going to be absolutely floored when you see this work of art!

Have a super week everyone -- see you next Sunday.
