Comments: It was lovely to see the eager kids and our parents on this beautiful Sunday morning. It was indeed a special class, with so many of our parents helping out and the kids leading the shlokas, bhajans, and Gita chanting all by themselves.

We started our class with chanting Om three times and went on the warm up with our yoga stretches. Once we were all warmed up we practiced our Shlokas. Some of the little helpers were able to lead the Shlokas all by themselves. Great job kids and thank you parents for helping them practice. We even learnt a new Shloka for Goddess Lakshmi.

Today we added a new chant to our list. “Om Namo Baghavate Vasudevaya” It was another chant for Lord Vishnu. The children did an awesome job chanting. After chanting it was time for our Bhajans. As usual the kids were eager with their requests. Today a special mention has to be made for Pragna and Krishna who lead us through “Atma Rama” all by themselves. Mukil and his mother introduced the class to a new bhajan “Radhe Gopala”. It was beautiful. We will keep practicing this one.
We then chanted the first, second, third and fourth verses of chapter 12. We are getting better with our Gita chanting and we are going to keep practicing our verses.

Today at craft time we made Maracas. The kids made some really good noise makers. After working hard on their craft, it was snack time. Akshara and her family brought in snack for the entire class even though they were unable to attend our class today. We appreciate their effort.

After snack we counted to 10 in Sanskrit and got ready for Story time. Today we heard the story of ‘The Fox and the Drum’. We saw how the greedy fox had to go home with no dinner. The kids helped out with making a lot of noise on their Maracas each time the wind blew in the story to lead the Fox to the Drum. After Story time we played a quick game of ‘Head Shoulders Knees and Toes’. We learnt to sing the song in Sanskrit. It was a lot of fun.

We ended out class with the closing Shlokas.

Comments: It was a cold and frosty morning this Sunday. As usual it was lovely to see the eager children and our enthusiastic parents. We started our class with chanting Om three times and then went on to do our yoga stretches. We really needed to warm up on this cold morning.

After Yoga, it was time for Shlokas. The kids loved to help lead the Shlokas. Some of the little helpers were able to lead the Shlokas all by themselves. Great job kids and thank you parents for helping them practice. We did two chants today; the new chant Om Namoh Narayana that we learnt last week along with ॐ गम् गणपतयॆ नमः – Om gam gaNapataye namaH. After Shlokas and Chanting, it was time for Bhajans. Today we learnt a new bhajan for Lord Shiva “Bolo Bolo Sab Mil Bolo”. The words were a little hard but the kids gave it a very good try. I am sure if we do it a few more times we will get the words. We loved to dance to Great God Hanumaji and got really creative with Khaate Bhi Ram Kaho. The kids had lots of fun.

Then it was Gita chanting time. We are getting better with our Gita chanting. We were able to chant the first, second, and third verse fluently as a group. After Gita chanting we got to practice our colors in Sanskrit. Today we added one more color (नारङ्गः naara~ngaH orange) to our list.

During craft time we decorated beautiful Valentine hearts. The kids did an awesome job. After working hard on their craft, it was time for snack. Hassini and her family brought in snack for the entire class.

After snack we counted to 10 in Sanskrit and got ready for story time. Today we heard the story of Krishna and Sudama. Through the story we learnt about the true friendship and love between Krishna and Sudama. After the story little Krishna visited with us and gave every kid a hug and a kiss (Hershey). It was a fun class.

Aarthi and pledge was in the auditorium.

Comments: It was a beautiful Sunday morning and it was lovely to see a nice full class. We started with chanting Om three times and then went on to do our yoga stretches. The kids enjoyed exercising their voices in the Lion Pose.

After Yoga, it was time for Shlokas. The kids loved to help lead the Shlokas. Some of the little helpers like Vikram, Lakshmi, Neeraja, Krishna, Diya, Shruti, were able to lead the Shlokas all by themselves. Great job kids and thank you parents for helping them practice. After chanting ॐ गम् गणपतयॆ नमः – Om gam gaNapataye namaH 5 times, we started with Bhajans. The kids were eager with their requests. It is nice to see so many of them joining in and singing to make the Bhajans enjoyable. We loved to dance to Great God Hanumaji and Great God Ganapathy. The kids had lots of fun.

Then it was Gita chanting time. We are getting better with our Gita chanting. We were able to chant the first, second, and third verse fluently as a group. After Gita chanting we got to practice our colors in Sanskrit.

Today at craft time we did an elephant coloring page. The kids made some colorful elephants. After working hard on their craft, it was time for snack. Abhinandan and his family brought in snack for the entire class.

After snack we counted to 10 in Sanskrit and got ready for Story time. Today we heard the story of ‘Ganjendra Moksha’. We learnt the importance of faith and devotion. After the story we got to play a game based on the story. The kids pretended to be “Gajendras” (elephants) and Rupa aunty was the crocodile who caught them. They had to chant “Om Namo Narayana” for her to let go. This helped reiterate the story with the kids. It was a great class.

We ended out class with the closing Shlokas.
