Comments: It was a beautiful Sunday morning and it was lovely to see a nice full class. We started with chanting Om three times and then went on to do our yoga stretches. The kids enjoyed exercising their voices in the Lion Pose.
After Yoga, it was time for Shlokas. The kids loved to help lead the Shlokas. Some of the little helpers like Vikram, Lakshmi, Neeraja, Krishna, Diya, Shruti, were able to lead the Shlokas all by themselves. Great job kids and thank you parents for helping them practice. After chanting ॐ गम् गणपतयॆ नमः – Om gam gaNapataye namaH 5 times, we started with Bhajans. The kids were eager with their requests. It is nice to see so many of them joining in and singing to make the Bhajans enjoyable. We loved to dance to Great God Hanumaji and Great God Ganapathy. The kids had lots of fun.
Then it was Gita chanting time. We are getting better with our Gita chanting. We were able to chant the first, second, and third verse fluently as a group. After Gita chanting we got to practice our colors in Sanskrit.
Today at craft time we did an elephant coloring page. The kids made some colorful elephants. After working hard on their craft, it was time for snack. Abhinandan and his family brought in snack for the entire class.
After snack we counted to 10 in Sanskrit and got ready for Story time. Today we heard the story of ‘Ganjendra Moksha’. We learnt the importance of faith and devotion. After the story we got to play a game based on the story. The kids pretended to be “Gajendras” (elephants) and Rupa aunty was the crocodile who caught them. They had to chant “Om Namo Narayana” for her to let go. This helped reiterate the story with the kids. It was a great class.
We ended out class with the closing Shlokas.
