Comments: Wow! It sure feels good to be back at balavihar on Sunday mornings. Good job kids. You had all been practicing all the shlokas, etc. through the break. We could certainly see that. Geeta chanting was fabulous today! The first 3 shlokas came wonderfully!! The candies that you earned at the end of the class were definitely not as sweet as your chanting!! We are so, so proud of you all - both children and parents - children for chanting, parents for making them (chant, that is) :). Make sure you all register for the presentation on May 2nd. You did so good that we started learning the 4th shloka today.
Have we told you that you are bunch of smart kids :). You guys were of great help during story time. You knew where the lion lives, what his food is, what his house is called, how a mouse runs, how strong his teeth are! Goodness, that is a lot of information. With all the above information, we heard the story of 'Lion and the mouse'. We learnt that 'a friend in need, is a friend indeed!' and also, size does not matter when it comes to friendship. The mouse sure was small, but it was of big help to the already big lion :).
We had extra dose of energy after snack time today. We had two snacks and juice as well - making up for the snow day apparently :). Numbers in sanskrit came in full blown volume and 'simhaasana' during yoga time was the 'funnest' (if that is a word) part! Wasn't it :)
Hope you didn't eat your candies in the auditorium.
Snippets: 1. The kids chant shlokas so well, aunties and uncle applaud them with - 'Good job!' every now and then. When that did not come right after a shloka ended, one of our littlest ones, very sweetly claps and says 'good job!'
2. During yoga time, uncle was showing 'vajraasana', facing the children. In order for the children to see the way his legs were, he turned back. One of our sweet toddlers thinks that is a part of the 'aasana' and he too, turns backwards, facing the wall :).
