Comments: Balavihar is one of the high points of a cold, blustery Sunday morning! We always look forward to meeting our dear little friends every week. It is wonderful to see them progress steadily week after week! We chanted our 3 Oms and did our Yoga warm up. Then we said our shlokas. At Bhajan time today, the children led most of the Bhajans and did a really good job! Today, during Geetha chanting, we finished learning all the 4 verses assigned for our class. Now we have to practice them everyday. We made a mouse puppet for craft today and the children had loads of fun making the puppet out of brown paper bags. Then it was snack time. After snack, the kids went looking for the mouse with Nanda Aunty. Not only did we find the mouse which was tiny and yellow but we also found a big blue lion! Today’s story was about the lion and the mouse. The naughty mouse tried to tickle the huge sleeping lion! After a few tries, the mouse managed to wake the lion up. The lion was very angry that he was disturbed while sleeping! He told the mouse that he was going to eat him up! The mouse begged the lion to let him go and said that he would be the lion’s friend for ever and ever if he did so. The lion laughed at the mouse and said that he himself was the king of the jungle and so big and powerful and didn’t how a teeny little mouse would help him! A few days later, the lion got stuck in a hunter’s net and just could not get out of it, however hard he tried. He started weeping. Hearing his cries, the mouse realized that his friend, the lion, was in trouble and needed help. He ran to the lion and set him free by chewing and cutting the net open! The lion realized that though little, the mouse was able to save the huge lion’s life and apologized to the mouse. From that day they became really good friends! Since Arathi and pledge was at the auditorium today, we chanted xÉuÉåï pÉuÉliÉÑ xÉÑÎZÉlÉÈ - sarve bhavantu sukhinaH and पूर्णमदः - Om poornamadaH and completed today’s class.
