Comments: It was lovely to see the eager and enthusiastic children and parents this Sunday morning. We started our class with chanting Om three times and then went on to do our yoga stretches. We were all a bit sleepy, since we had a lost an hour of sleep and we really needed to warm up.

Once we were all warmed up it was time for Shlokas. The kids loved to help lead the Shlokas. Some of the little helpers were able to lead the Shlokas all by themselves. Great job kids and thank you parents for helping them practice. We did two chants today; the new chant Om Namo Baghavate Vasudevaya that we learnt last week along with ॐ गम् गणपतयॆ नमः – Om gam gaNapataye namaH. After Shlokas and Chanting, it was time for Bhajans. We loved to dance to Great God Hanumaji and got really creative with Khaate Bhi Ram Kaho. The kids had lots of fun. We then chanted the first, second, third and fourth verses of chapter 12 as a group. Today, we learnt the fifth verse. Vikram did an awesome job of leading the class through the fifth verse.

At craft time we celebrated Sahana Iyer’s birthday. Sahana and her family brought in the craft for the class. The kids made some really colorful and beautiful Tortoises. After working hard on their craft, it was snack time. Saurav and his family brought in snack for the entire class.

After snack we counted to 10 in Sanskrit and got ready for Story time. Today we had a special guest Ameetji, come by to tell us a story. We heard the story of ‘The Tortoise and the Bunny’. We saw how the slow and steady Tortoise won the race against the bunny. Kids had a good time helping out with the story. After Story time we played a quick game of ‘Head Shoulders Knees and Toes’. We learnt to sing the song in Sanskrit. It was a lot of fun.

We ended out class with the closing Shlokas. Aarti and pledge was in the auditorium.
