Comments: It was a cloudy and gloomy spring Sunday. It was lovely too see our kids and parents after a weeklong Spring break. We started our class with chanting Om three times and then went on to do our yoga stretches. We really needed the warm up, since we were all in a lazy mood today.
Once we were all warmed up it was time for Shlokas. The kids loved to help lead the Shlokas. Some of the little helpers were able to lead the Shlokas all by themselves. After Shlokas and Chanting, it was time for Bhajans. We loved to dance to Great God Hanumaji and we got really creative with Khate Bhi Ram Kaho. The kids had lots of fun. The kids were eager with their requests as usual. We then chanted the five verses of chapter 12 of the Geeta as a group one last time. We have gotten really good with our chanting and we are ready for the Geeta Competition next week. After chanting the Geeta, we reviewed pictures of different Gods and what they ride on. It was very interesting.
At craft time the kids beautifully decorated their party hats. The kids made some beautiful looking hats. After working hard on their craft, it was snack time. Shruthi and her family brought in snack for the entire class.
After snack we counted to 10 in Sanskrit and got ready for Story time. Today we heard the story of the Monkeys and the Cap Seller. The kids pretended to be the monkeys in the story and got a chance to act out the story. We saw the importance of using one’s wit to solve a problem.
We ended out class with the closing Shlokas.
We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday at Vrindavan Ashram for the Geeta Chanting Competition.
