Comments: We started our class in the New Year by wishing each other a nice warm ‘Happy New Year’. It was nice to see all the enthusiastic children and parents after a long break. It seems like all the kids have gotten a little taller over the past two weeks.

We started our class as usual with chanting Om three times. We then did our yoga stretches. We did lot of fun stretches like the Tree pose, Turtle pose, and Lion pose. It was absolutely adorable to see the kids do the Turtle pose and pop up their heads to say “Hari Om”.

After Yoga, it was time for Shlokas. Today we learnt a new Shloka बुद्दिर्बलं – buddirbalaM. The shloka highlights all the wonderful qualities of Hanumanji. The kids loved to help lead the Shlokas. Some of the little helpers were able to lead the Shlokas all by themselves. Great job kids and thank you parents for helping them practice. After chanting ॐ गम् गणपतयॆ नमः – Om gam gaNapataye namaH 5 times, we started with Bhajans. Today we learnt a new Bhajan “Great God Hanmanji” and the kids loved to dance to this new Bhajan. The kids were eager with their requests. It is nice to see so many of them joining in and singing to make the Bhajans enjoyable. Then it was Gita chanting time. We chanted the first, second, and third verses of chapter 12. We are getting better with our Gita chanting and we are going to keep practicing our verses.

Today at craft time we made Japa Malas. The kids did an awesome job beading their Japa Malas. After we made the Japa Malas we learnt how to chant ‘Ram’ with it. The kids did great. After craft it was snack time, Rohan and his family brought in snack for the entire class.

After snack we counted to 10 in Sanskrit and got ready for Story time. Today we heard the story of ‘How Hanumanji crossed the vast ocean to find Sita’. We learnt about all the amazing qualities in Hanumanji.

We ended out class with the closing Shlokas. Aarthi was in the auditorium.
