Aarati & Ending Stotra:

Comments: Today marked the end of Navaratri. In class we discussed about Goddess Saraswati. Her favorite color is white (shwetaH) and she helps us grow smart and learn many cool new things! After our usual Yoga stretches, we said our shlokas and chanted the Bhagavat Gita. Then we moved on to Bhajans. Among our favorite Bhajans is Khaate bhi Raama kaho and we learnt 2 new verses in it. It is going to be a lot of fun as we think up of more activities during which we will remember Raam! Then it was time to eat the yummy snacks that Omkar's family brought us. So we chanted Brahmaarpanam and had snack time. After snack time, we counted from 1 - 10 in English and Sanskrit and moved on to learning colors in Sanskrit. The children remembered all their colors and are ready to learn more. Then we sat down for the story of the thirsty crow. The crow thought of a smart way to drink the water from the pot and we talked about how Saraswati helps us think up smart things and we pray to her everyday  to bless us with learning. Then we made the beautiful Devi craft that we love to make every year during Navaratri. We managed to find time to even play a game of Devi vadati before the ending shlokas. As always, it was a fun class and we will be back with more next Sunday!
