Aarati & Ending Stotra:

Comments: It is the beginning of a new month and the festival of Navaratri. The weather has been beautiful and festivity is in the air! Seeing the  happy young faces is always a pleasant way to begin our Balavihar Sundays! We started with our Oms and Saha na vavatu. Then we did Yoga stretches and then moved on to chanting Shlokas and then the Bhagavd Gita. Today, we learnt the second verse in chapter 14. After chanting we sang bhajans and learnt 2 new lines in Khaate bhi Raama kaho. After Bhajans came snack time and Adit and his family provided the snack for today. We thanked God with Brahmaarpanam and said a big DhanyavaadaH to Adit's family. After snack time we made the Toran craft to decorate for Navaratri. Then came Story time. Today's story was about how Goddess Lakshmi blessed a poor woman, Shreeya, during Lakshmi Pooja. Although Shreeya was very poor, she prayed to Goddess Lakshmi with a humble heart full of love and devotion. We learnt that whatever we offer to Goddess Lakshmi with pure love and devotion will be accepted by her happily and She will always bless us and stay with us. After Story time, we reviewed our colors and then played a fun game of Lakshmi Vadati. Finally, we sang the first stanza of Jai Jagadeesha Hare and ended with Om Poornamadah. We had a great class today! See you all next Sunday for another fun-filled learning session.
